Measurement Methods of Submersible Water Tank Level Sensor

Aug 11 , 2023

There are two kinds of measurement methods of submersible water tank level sensor, they are static water level measurement and dynamic water level measurement respectively. Different water velocity, the sensor installation method is also different. Based on the high performance piezoresistive diffused silicon pressure core as the measuring element, it can fulfill the requirements of hydrostatic pressure and accurate measurement.

Submersible water tank level sensor in static water level measurement

When submersible water tank level sensor is used to measure the still water level (water pool, water tank, or liquid level tank), the measurement method is different. If it is used to measure the level of stationary liquid in an open container, we need to place the submersible water tank level sensor vertically at the bottom of the container and fix the cable. When we measure the viscosity of the medium (the sump), it needs to be fitted with an additional bracket to ensure that the sensor can be completely immersed in the bottom of the container. Finally, if it is necessary to install or measure in the open air, the junction box of the sensor should be placed in a ventilated and dry place to avoid direct exposure to the hot sun and rain, which may cause the housing temperature to be too high or rain water to enter into the sensor, thus damaging the internal circuit board.

Submersible water tank level sensor in dynamic water level measurement

When submersible water tank level sensor is used for dynamic water level measurement, we need to consider the flow rate and water level measurement environment. If the water level fluctuates greatly, we need to insert a steel pipe with an inner diameter of about 50cm in the opposite direction of the water flow, so that the water can enter the pipe smoothly to ensure the accuracy of the measurement. Secondly, if there are large sediments on the bottom, we can filter the sediments by installing damping devices to eliminate the adverse effects of dynamic pressure and waves, which can improve the accuracy of measurement.

No matter what state the water level is in, the submersible water tank level sensor can meet any measurement. In addition, it can also be applied to seawater and other corrosive media liquid level measurement.
